Back in Singapore

I’ve never craved a holiday more than now after returning back to base. This trip from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur was indeed an eye-opener!

It’s not that I’ve never been to KL in my entire 25 years of breathing life but all my previous trips uptown was always shopping, shopping and more shopping.

Now, with the opening of Pavilion Mall, I wouldn’t be surprise why Singaporeans are rushing to KL on Tiger Airways to shop there instead. Everything is cheaper (with our stronger currency rate against ringgit), their fashion range is almost similar, plus the food is G.R.E.A.T!

What made this trip unique and memorable was not because I had found a happening back alley food paradise by mistake or had splurged on expensive desserts in a high class bistro. Instead, both Kannan and I had made real plans to visit the nature reserve, the elephant conservation park and the best of all, a chance upon discovery to the deer park in Perak (which is apparently our top rated “die die must go” place if you’re there).

Knowing that my late mother will never visit such places that have a high potential of having our feet soaked in mud, mosquitoes buzzing around our ears, or a long and tiring stairways climbing  into Batu Cave. This trip wouldn’t have been possible.

Along the way, we laughed and talked about how my late mother will freak out if she finds herself stuck in this trip and how she would love Pavilion Mall if she’s still with us. Nonetheless, she’s always in our hearts no matter where we go.

I really enjoy KL like I’ve never before. I always thought KL was just another Singapore.  I bet the next time when I set my feet into KL again, it will definitely be more exploring than shopping. Heez!
