Flea Market at Jalan Membina

I apologise to our readers in regards to this entry post because I drafted this post out on 1st November but I left it in our draft folder and totally forgotten about it!

This event was organized by Jalan Membina’s RCs community that was held on 26th October 2008, Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Their target audience was to organized a flea market for the residents of Tiong Baruh to gather their unwanted stuff and sell it over a Sunday afternoon. There were also other activities like senior citizens karaoking competition going on by the side and lots of other food stalls sitting side-by-side with us.

We are sad to say that sales weren’t that great but we had loads of FUN! We sing-along and even dance along to the “ching-cheong” songs. Best of all, we even made friends with our friendly NTUC Income representative neighbour, our Malay neighbours selling delicious Mee Siam, the housing agents from HRS and I even met one of my options trading classmate who was part of the organizing team for this event. What a coincidence!

Besides promoting our Delcie’s Desserts, we even tried our hands on selling Satay Wrap where all our satay came directly from the famous stall in Changi Village! But instead of BBQing the satay, we decided to make less sinful by pan frying it with minimum oil and wrapped them with lots of vegetables in a pita bread.

At the end of the day, what we brought back wasn’t just the whole bag of remaining Satay Wraps but a bag of experience, friends and fun.
