After my previous post (read here about baby steps to being healthy), one of my readers, Matt, spoke to me over Google Chat.

Matt: btw saw your post about being vegetarian
something I’ve actually been thinking about recently too
me: really? any advise needed? u have a trainer right?
Matt: haha nope! mainly just thinking about cutting back on meat at the moment
can see the value in it, personally for health and also in general sustainability
I don’t think I could ever be full vegetarian, but definitely room for improvement
by trainer you mean gym? stopped already
me: ohh
ok… to start, i suggest you to skip the yolk in eggs
just take the white only when u have the choice
Matt: actually I hardly ever eat egg anyway but i’ll keep it in mind
me: ok cool. then when u can ask for more vegetables, go for it
more vege = more fiber = more crunch = less intake of bad food
Matt: yep ok
me: i think most importantly is to have lesser meat.. not exclude it altogether
Matt: yeah that’s what i was thinking
skip meat some meals
me: dun force yourself if you find it difficult
just cut back on the meat during meals.
eg. in the burger, take a single instead of a double patty, ask for more vege
Matt: ok
yep thanks
been starting to do so already
me: great man!
Matt: heh thanks for the advice – I haven’t really mentioned that to anyone else yet ![]()
i think your blog post made me realise i was thinking about it … if that makes sense
me: it’s ok
i hope I’ve inspired at least to you

If you’re like Matt, who has been thinking about it, just start by one little baby step one at a time to change your diet. Don’t change it all because you might not like it. Let it take effect into your body slowly to adjust and gradually change more along the way. Soon, you’ ll realise that you’re not making effort to choose that healthier choice.
If you have a story to share and want to inspire my readers to change their lifestyle into a healthier one, email me at delcies@delciesdesserts.com I will post them here in my blog. ![]()
