Shopping for oven

I’m not too sure if I’ve posted anything on purchasing an oven yet but because we are still shopping for a suitable oven to be placed in our shop. I thought  I might as well educate you guys about ovens.

There are many kind of ovens in the market. The brand that I’m looking for is Rowenta. According to the Mustafa’s sales lady, she mentioned that the price at Mustafa is the cheapest and I need not look elsewhere for a cheaper deal.

I’m not too sure if she wanted to close the deal or if she was telling the truth. Anyway, I’m still going to shop around Best Denki and Giant to see if what she was saying is true.

As for types of ovens. There are fan-based ovens, top-bottom heater ovens, steamer ovens, microwave ovens with baking elements and all-in-one ovens.

I wish I could get the all-in-one oven but it’s more likely to come with a bigger price tag. I personally would not recommend a microwave oven because it doesn’t bake as well as compared to traditional ones. As for fan-based, this kind of oven is great for cookies and biscuits that do not require air to raise the cake form.

BUT, if you’re looking for an oven to bake cupcakes or cakes, a top-bottom heater oven would be the best choice. But at the end of the day, the quality of an oven is largely dependent on it’s brand.

For Rowenta, their ovens are made in France, whereas most commercial ovens are made in China. This is true for some of the big electronic brands.

Well, I do hope we can quickly settle this oven thing. One thing at a time.

Hello Delcie, I was very happy to explore your website since yesterday! I’ve been really interested in baking, but i’m still 15 years old, and can’t get myself too indulge in this hobby, as I have to manage time with school stuff. However, reading this site of your website makes me really want to get myself an oven. (I love baking, but sadly i don’t have any oven, I baked in school) Quite oblivious of Singapore’s map, may I know where is Mustafa that sells the cheapest deal? I also want to get all-in-one oven provided the price is affordable for me. Have you managed to check out its price? Really looking forward to your reply :) Thank you a lot!

    Hi

I haven’t really bake but will like to start and was shopping for ovens. From your very clear pixs, the price for Rowenta is defintely cheap! Tangs, etc are all selling at $500+ with/ without the fan. How about Baby Belling? Is it good? It is rather small and will not fit a turkey, if I am ambitious someday, haha!

Hi Sabby, Rowenta is definitely a good brand and is big enough for your turkey. Especially when Christmas is drawing close, it’s a MUST-HAVE for Turkey. hehe!
