I just knew it right from the beginning! I’m doomed to be stressful my entire baking life.

With the recent shop moving, friends are seeing me in absolute despair condition.

I even inspired myself to trim my hair to the shortest; which by the way, made me look like a boy from behind.

Something must be wrong with Delcie.

On Thursday, as I was on my way to an appointment, I saw this cute little board written with “Stressed is desserts spelled backwards”. I almost bought that useless piece of board that affirmed my baking life.

Only which, I forbid myself to embrace the conviction. For a simple reason why I’m in this dessert business, I love to know that my desserts have the ability to lighten someone’s day whether at a surprised wife’s office desk, a birthday party or at the wedding reception.

The taste of the food can never lie about the love and commitment of the baker who bakes the cake.

For that simple reason, I’m in love with this stressed business. Yes, I’m the crazy Delcie.

At the same time, the name “The Magic Oven” will be renamed to “Whisk & Fold” as we move into our new baking studio at 778A North Bridge Road.

I’m crossing my fingers tight with high hopes that all will go smoothly with the move. Until then, we’ll invite all our past supporters to visit our new outlet on our official opening date.;)

So stay tune as I’ll blog about the hair tearing and high pitch screaming about the move.

I’ve been there and done that. Plus, organzing The Magic Oven’s community baking project allows me to speak to so many aspiring bakers out there who wish to achieve their dream of owing a bakery business without having to invest more than 10 thousands of dollars upfront.

Dear fellow home bakers,

I understand that you are keen to set up your own bakery business but because Whisk and Fold no longer have the capacity to help more people to do that due to space constrains, it has already stopped the co-sharing program.

In order to provide you with more information on how to start up your own bakery here are some details:
NEA do not issue license for home bakers baking from home. You will still need to rent a URA food appoved shop, get NEA to approve it and then, you may start selling publicly. This may take 1 mth if fast. In order to run any food related business in singapore, you need to be producing your product from a food approved licensed kitchen/shop. Home based are illegal to NEA.

If you are looking to rent a food approved shop, speak to a real estate agent and he/she will be able to help you further.
