I’m not too sure if I’ve posted anything on purchasing an oven yet but because we are still shopping for a suitable oven to be placed in our shop. I thought I might as well educate you guys about ovens.

There are many kind of ovens in the market. The brand that I’m looking for is Rowenta. According to the Mustafa’s sales lady, she mentioned that the price at Mustafa is the cheapest and I need not look elsewhere for a cheaper deal.

I’m not too sure if she wanted to close the deal or if she was telling the truth. Anyway, I’m still going to shop around Best Denki and Giant to see if what she was saying is true.

As for types of ovens. There are fan-based ovens, top-bottom heater ovens, steamer ovens, microwave ovens with baking elements and all-in-one ovens.

I wish I could get the all-in-one oven but it’s more likely to come with a bigger price tag. I personally would not recommend a microwave oven because it doesn’t bake as well as compared to traditional ones. As for fan-based, this kind of oven is great for cookies and biscuits that do not require air to raise the cake form.

BUT, if you’re looking for an oven to bake cupcakes or cakes, a top-bottom heater oven would be the best choice. But at the end of the day, the quality of an oven is largely dependent on it’s brand.

For Rowenta, their ovens are made in France, whereas most commercial ovens are made in China. This is true for some of the big electronic brands.

Well, I do hope we can quickly settle this oven thing. One thing at a time.
